Opt-In Journey

1. User Initiates Login/Registration

• On the login or registration screen, the user is prompted to enter their mobile phone number.
• Next to or below the input field, the following text is displayed: “A one-time login code via SMS. Message and data rates may apply.”:

2. User Submits Phone Number

• The user taps “Continue” or “Send Code,” which acts as a clear action indicating consent.
• This event is logged on our servers and/or identity provider with the phone number, timestamp, and consent metadata.

3. SMS is Sent

• An SMS is sent to the user containing a time-bound OTP (e.x., “RunningCrews: Your login code is: 225491  It expires in 15 minutes. Do not share this code.”).
• This message is transactional, not promotional, and only sent in response to user-initiated actions.

4. User Enters OTP

• The user enters the OTP in the app to complete the authentication flow.
